That Which Grows
Sara Khaleghi Moghaddam
Jun 12 - Jun 30, 2026
A solo exhibition by Sara Khaleghi Moghaddam will open at Ba Gallery on Friday, June 12.
Nature, throughout these series of artwork, emerges as a force that carries the possibility of renewal from within collapse. Through this perspective, Khaleghi Moghaddam’s paintings become a space for dialogue between humanity and the natural world, where the impulses to observe and to possess are intricately intertwined.
Formally, the oil paintings reveal the artist’s conceptual duality through brushstrokes that shift between loose, spontaneous gestures and deliberate, structured marks. In the smaller works, a greater sense of intimacy with the surface and its details comes into view, as lines and fields of color merge and dissolve into one another, capturing fleeting moments of perception.
The oil pastel artworks on paper possess a softer, more ephemeral texture. Their colors blur into each other, creating an unstable visual quality that recalls the ever changing, transient nature of the landscape.
"That Which Grows" is a meditation on the relationship between humanity and nature. Through the language of painting, Khaleghi Moghaddam explores the tension between the desire for order and the acceptance of chaos, sustaining, within that very tension, the enduring possibility of renewal.
Visitors may view the exhibition daily from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on Fridays from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The gallery is closed on Saturdays.
Ba Gallery Address: Units 602 and 603, Modern Plaza Building, No. 1, Nastaran Alley, Baharan Street, Nakhl Street, West Artesh Boulevard.

Statement
Nature is a quiet and constant presence, carrying within it an endless cycle of growth, decay, and renewal. The artist stands between letting go and intervening, suspended on the boundary between observation and control. The flowers embody two different desires: one shaped by the human pursuit of order, the other faithful to the living unpredictability of nature. What remains is the distance between humanity and that which it has always longed to come closer to.
