Asghar Aharipour Timeless Poster Horizontal

According to Mehr News Agency, a solo exhibition of works by Asghar Aharipour titled Timeless will open on Friday, July 4th, at Ba Gallery.

Aharipour was born in 1953 in Tabriz. He graduated from the College of Fine Arts in 1971 and entered the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Tehran. The structure of his works is shaped by a surreal atmosphere with an emphasis on the creation of figures. The works in the Timeless collection exist somewhere between life and death, and each piece portrays the persistence of people through their surroundings.

In part of the exhibition statement, written by Seroj Baresqhian, it says: “In the 1960s, a movement in the theoretical and critical discussions of painting emerged, bringing two important terms into focus among other artistic terms. These two terms were intensified by the cultural Cold War between the Eastern and Western blocs. The confrontation between figurative painting and abstract painting resulted from this movement. This current has continued into the postmodern era and remains influential today. Many contemporary painters are still influenced by this theory in some way. Asghar Aharipour, in the intersection of abstract and figurative art in his works and artistic path, chose the latter. He is counted among the narrative and contemporary figurative artists of Iran. In the art world of painting, there are two kinds of signatures: one, which is well known, is applied at the end of the work, signing it with the declared completion time. The second, much more important, is the overall atmosphere of the work, the artist’s perspective, mood, and so forth, belonging to the artist’s personal identity. Aharipour’s works include both types of signatures, and it might be said that the second type of signature is more evident than the first in his works.”

Ba Gallery will be open daily from 4 pm to 8 pm and on holidays from 5 pm to 9 pm until July 18 to welcome visitors.
